Training and development

IL FORNAIO focuses on appropriate training and evolution of staff, we supply a range of development solutions to meet the ever changing needs of our corporate strategic plan with all staff given access to training. We emphasise on improvement towards a multi skilled workforce and an increasing level of importance goes towards customer service.

Health and safety

The safety and wellbeing of staff and customers Is of prime importance to IL FORNAIO, our philosophy is to be proactive in the field of health and safety and act upon prevention not cure. All members of staff are trained on matters of health and safety as a part of their induction process and receive on going on the job training.
IL FORNAIO has also drawn up a comprehensive health and safety policy and system of risk assessments. Risk management groups meet quarterly and consist of senior executives from each division of the business. This provides a forum for reviewing levels of risk and the controls that are required to deal with them, food safety and environmental issues also play an integral part of these meetings.

QA Manager

We have an amazing opportunity for a QA Manager to join our Technical Team.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Manage: supplier audits, customer and third party audits, raw-material non-conformance system, customers’ complaint.
  • Responsible for: internal audits, HACCP, product specification, allergen system.

Skills and competencies:

  • Objective setting skills.
  • Quality auditing qualifications.
  • Ability to Lead, Plan, Organise, Motivate and Control personnel.
  • HACCP - in depth knowledge of Food Safety.
  • Knowledge of BRC Systems.
  • Basic Food Hygiene certificate - minimum.
  • Food Technology & Statistical knowledge.


Night Shift Supervisor

Main responsibilities:

  • Ensure that packed boxes pass through the metal detector- raise any rejected product with line QC
  • Ensure all technical paper work are completed at all times & on time.
  • Ensure empty pallet availability and removal of full pallets in conjunction with QC or Supervisor
  • Ensure that the boxes are correctly sealed (after quality checks have been carried out)- check all box seals
  • Ensure that packed boxes are weight checked and raise any weight issues or rejects with line QC or Supervisor
  • Ensure that all staff works to their allocated shifts and perform duties to the standard required.
  • Ensure all the staff are fully supersized all the time.
  • Make sure staff follows the speed of the line to avoid gaps in the dispatch process.
  • Management of various reports to ensure smooth running of Warehouse/Dispatch department.
  • Delegate and prioritise duties to achieve objectives.
  • Monitoring KPI’s and ensuring KPI’s are met.
  • Managing stock levels, rotation, minimise loss and stock wastage levels
  • Maintain accurate stock management system

  • Previous Managerial experience in Dispatch management/ similar industry

Shifts: 23:00-07:30 am (6 days a week- Saturday off)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £26,000.00 to £28,000.00 /year



QA Assistant

Main responsibilities:

  • Ensure all CCP’s relating to the HACCP are maintained and monitored at all times.
  • Maintain QA database and filling system.
  • Monitoring and evaluating incoming raw materials, production and processing procedures.
  • Assist in performing inbound inspections of selected raw materials to assure specifications are achieved.
  • Internal audits: GMP, traceability, HACCP, paperwork, allergens, process, organic clean down, hand swabs.
  • Logs: product on hold, metal rejects, serious incident.
  • To help prepare for external audits.

Shifts available: 6 days a week- 1 day off

  • 07:00-15:30
  • 15:00-23:30
  • 23:00-07:30
